Jones Lake

80 degrees today... again. This weather is almost too nice.
We went on another random adventure today, we went to check out Jones Lake in Elizabethtown.
We had a picnic, rode our bikes on some trails, and played in the lake.
There were some really loud frogs in the water by this pier. This is the face Clayton made every time the frogs would croak (He was so concerned!!)

Warm Winter Activities

Wearing Shorts!
Yes, we do put Clayton in the backpack for bike rides... we are in the market for something more suitable, but this works in the meantime.
We are LOVING the weather going on over here!
We've been backyard BBQing, hiking, bike riding, and park playing all winter long.
It's been perfect.
Our hearts go out to all our peeps back home, cooped up inside because its too dang cold to go outside :)

One Year Older

The wiser part is yet to be determined :)
This guy is 27 today!
(incase you couldn't figure out the math problem!)
homemade Boston Cream Pie is delicious. I highly recommend it.
Happy Birthday Sean! Sorry I forgot to buy candles for your cake.

Harkers Island

We went for a Sunday drive to Harkers Island today, and hiked the trails around Core Sound. It was a great day for a hike! The weather was perfect, and as you can see from the picture over-load we've provided here for you, it was a beautiful out there!!
And in true Boggs fashion, we end this post with our trademark awkward family pictures, free of charge. You're welcome.

Under the Knife

Sean had a surgery done on his eye when he was really little and the scar tissue caused his eyelid to have a small gap in it like this:
That gap seemed to be getting worse over time and was causing problems. He was getting things in his eye a lot because the lid wasn't protecting it very well and it was making his eye dry. So he saw the doctor about it, the doctor scheduled a surgery (on Friday), and now he looks like this:
Half Chinese! This the day he got it operated on.
This picture is a couple of days after the surgery. A lot less slanty (I know that's not a word, but just go with it.) and no more gap. Ta Da!
There is an explanation of his eye. Now maybe people will stop asking if I punched him :)

January Fishing

Grandpa Boggs hooked the boys up with some fishing poles when I was pregnant with Clayton... they finally got around to using them!
Here are some pictures of the first of many fishing trips, I am sure that these two will take together.
p.s. you will soon notice that there are no fish in these pictures... but thats not the whole point of fishing right? :)

Clayton was so excited about his fishing pole... he would not let go of it for anything! Checkout the death-grip he has on it...
We had to take it out of his hands to buckle him into the car seat... he had a meltdown.
Half the time Clayton was fishing the wrong direction... but he didn't care, he was having fun :)
And, what's a Boggs family outing without a horrible attempt at a family picture taken of ourselves??
This one cracks me up! FAIL.

We are still here!

Don't worry everyone... The Boggs family is still alive and well!! We've been busy living the good life. Here is a recap to bring y'all up to date:

New Years came and went before we knew it. Wow, time sure does fly when our family is living under the same roof! It's hard to believe that it's already been 4 months since Sean came home.
We've been spending our spare time exploring more of the beauties that Carolina has to offer... we are trying to get it all in before we check out of here in April.
Here are pictures of some of our recent adventures:

we went to the beach on a whim one windy day in January, it was kinda cold but we still had fun playing in the sand.

These pictures are in Morehead City on another random January day.

And, another spontaneous trip, this one was to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. It was another nice day to hangout at the beach (it has been a really mild winter here!) Clayton thought this pier was a good place to practice his walking. We just can't get enough of him! He's taken over our cameras :)
