Christmas Lights and Hot Chocolate

For Christmas, Cameron (my little brother) sent us money and told us to use it to get hot chocolate and drive around and look at Christmas lights. (cute idea huh?) So we went to Dutch Bros. to get our hot chocolate, I got carmel hot cocoa and Sean got hazelnut. It was so good! We heard that a subdivision had really good lights up on every house so we went to check it out. There was a long line of cars going in to the subdivision... it was crazy how many people were there! Santa was there too... he had a llama!! (I tried to get a good picture of it but it was moving a lot.) There were tons of lights! It was awesome! The subdivision was also hosting a food drive, which we didn't know about so we felt weird not having any food with us to give. It was really cool to see all the lights though and to get to hang out with my favorite person too!

sister-in-law fun!

Rachel and I have been doing some fun girl stuff while we've been here. We have done our hair, painted her tea set that she got from her grandma, painted our nails, and built a fort in the living room to watch movies in. Here are some pictures of all our activities...

SNOW!! And Lots of it...

The family (minus the Wells) went up to Union Creek to play in the snow. It was great! There was so much snow... it was up to our hips! The snow was really dry! We couldn't even make snowballs! Sledding didn't work so well either... but we had a lot of fun!! We brought a camp stove and made lunch while we were up there. We had chili, summer sausage with cheese and crackers, cookies, and hot chocolate and hot cider. We were all freezing by the time we left!

Battle of the Sexes

Tonight we played Battle of the Sexes with Mary and Micah. It was a blast! The girls won (of course!) That game is really fun! Mary brought cake for everyone... it was delicious.

Yesterday we went to lunch at Sean's favorite sandwich place in Medford. It's called R and D's Sandwich Factory. They make huge sandwiches, that taste amazing. I got a roast beef dip with cheesy potato soup and Sean got a ruben sandwich with split pea soup. YUM!! We forgot to take pictures of the sandwiches because we were so excited to eat them!

We're in Oregon and We got a new camera!

We drove to Central Point on the 13th, we left around 4:30 in the morning and drove for eleven and a half hours. We got to the Boggs' house around 5:00. Sean's family had no idea that we were coming... When we got into town we called to make sure everyone was home. Sean talked to his mom and said we were just hanging out at home trying to find something to make for dinner. A few minutes later we just walked into the house and told her that we couldn't find anything to make at home, so we decided to come over to see what they were having. They were so surprised! Mom Boggs said it was "the best Christmas present ever!" We will be here until the 27th.
* We didn't take any pictures of the surprise... We should have.

We also finally got a new camera after our small one broke while we were home in Idaho this summer. We got a small Canon and we really like it. We have been taking pictures of all the things we are doing here in Oregon. Now all I gotta do is get around to blogging all of it!

Ugly Sweaters!

Our friends the West's (Anna, Kent and Benson) invited us to an ugly sweater party last week. The group: Wendy and David Cox, Nicole David and Makean Koch, Chris and Jessie Harrison, Natalie Evans and of course the Boggs. Everyone wore ugly sweaters and we brought Thanksgiving food (which was delicious) and a white elephant gift. We had a contest for ugliest sweater (Neither of us won, I thought our sweaters were pretty ugly...) and did the white elephant exchange. We ended up with travel toothpaste, mouthwash, and deodorant, and a Disney princess nail kit. We always have fun with our friends, the party was no exception, we had lots of laughs and a really great time!

Please send us your email addresses (everyone who reads!!) and we will make sure you get an invitation.

Cooking Thanksgiving Dinner

This year was our first experience actually cooking Thanksgiving dinner. We made a lot food and it was just the 2 of us on Thanksgiving to eat it, because all of our friends had family around here or went to see their families. We had a lot of fun cooking all the food, everything turned out great! Nothing burned and their were no disasters!! We made a turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, stuffing, brussel sprouts, green bean casserole, rolls, apple pie, and pumpkin pie! and we had snacks too... chips and salsa, chips and onion dip, and crackers with a cheeseball! Yum!!

One whole year!

It's crazy how time flies, it seems like just yesterday that Sean and I got married... but at the same time I feel like we have always been together. (I know that is contradicting, but I can't explain it) Our one year anniversary was on the 10th which was Monday. We were only planning on going out to dinner that night and doing something together on Tuesday because Sean would have that day off (Veteran's Day).
On Monday morning I woke up around 6:30 and Sean was still sleeping by me... I woke him up, telling him he was going to be late and asking him if he forgot to set his alarm. He said that he didn't want to tell me until later but he had gotten the day off so we could spend our anniversary together! How sweet! We went back to sleep until about 8:00. When we woke up again, I told him that I was planning on making him cookies while he was at work (he always wants cookies), but since he wasn't going it wouldn't be a surprise anymore. Lame surprise compared to what he said next.... He told me that I probably wouldn't have time to make them. And that I needed to pack a bag, because we were going to stay in Hollywood! I was totally surprise and very excited!
So that is where we went. It's about 2 hours north of us. We got there and checked into our hotel room, complete with a view of the Hollywood sign! The first day we walked around town, checked out the Star's Walk of Fame, Capital Records, and the Hollywood sign (we drove up as close as we could to it) That evening we went out to eat at an Indian restaurant and went to see the Santa Monica Pier... I was so excited to ride the ferris wheel that is on the pier but it closed down at 7:00 and we got there at 7:30! I was way bummed! That night we stopped by a grocery store and got individual Ben and Jerry's ice-creams and a bottle of sparkling cider (of course!) We went back to our hotel to eat our ice-cream and drink our cider out of plastic cups, while we watched 'The Secrets of a Magician Revealed' on t.v. (it was really interesting!) The next day we went and saw every single thing that there is to see in Hollywood. The Chinese Theater, tons of celebrity's houses, Beverly Hills, Rodeo drive, Kodak Theater, House of blues.... EVERYTHING! I can't write all of the things! It was so much fun! I loved every minuted of it. That night we drove home along the coast through New Port Beach, and Laguna Beach.

We took a million pictures... here are a few of them...

Riding in the open-top bus on our site seeing tour.
Sean looking very tourist-like!
Hanging out on Rodeo Drive. I can't believe how expensive things were in the stores there!
HOLLYWOOD

Driving onto the pier.

The Chinese Theater

Some star's on the Walk of Fame.

Waiting for our food at the restaurant.
The elevator at our hotel was kinda crazy. It would stop very suddenly, I was always a little worried when riding in it.

It was a great way to end our first year and start our next one. My favorite part of the trip was getting to hang out with Sean! I have the best husband, he is always thinking of fun things to do, and cute ways to surprise me! I'm so excited for year #2 and all the rest after that!!
