USS Midway and Seaworld

After everyone got back from L.A. some of us went to check out the USS Midway. It was really cool. We got to sit in real planes and tour the whole ship. Then on Thursday we went to Seaworld... and we got in for free (another military bonus)! Seaworld was really fun, it wasn't as crowded as Disneyland and the shows they do are awesome! It was great to see our families, we had so much fun hanging out with everyone. It was sad when the week was over and everyone left.

On Monday and Tuesday we went to Disneyland with Melissa's family. Rachel came with us too. It was so busy those days! The lines were way long... and it was so stinkin' hot! It was A LOT of fun though!! We love Disneyland!
Leaving for Disneyland... really, really early in the morning!

Spring Break!

Both of our families came to southern California for spring break... well most of them. Sean's Dad and younger sister (Rachel) and Melissa's entire family on her Dad's side. We all had a lot of fun!! The Boggs came first and we spent a couple days camping with them. We also went to the beach for a day. It was nice to just relax and hang out.

California Sunsets

Our month anniversary fell on a Sunday this time. We decided to pack a picnic dinner and go to the beach to watch the sunset (aww cute). We had huge French bread sandwiches, macaroni salad, cream sodas, chips and dip, and homemade chocolate chip cookies for dessert. The weather was really nice that day. The sunset was gorgeous!!

Mormon Battalion Celebration

We got to be pioneers for a day! We played pioneer games, made dolls, mud bricks, rope, and cooked biscuits on a campfire... and other cool things ... we can't name them all! There was even a real cannon there! We had a lot of fun and even learned a few things too... And on a side note, the other guy in the pictures is an aussie friend of Sean's. Jeremy Nicholl and Sean served together on their missions. He was in America visiting for a few weeks, so hanging out with him was an added bonus to a fun day!

Monster Truck Jam

On Saturday we went to see the monster truck show with the Raadgep's (Mike and Samantha) It was really fun! We went down to San Diego like 5 hours early to get our tickets and go out for dinner. We went to Olive Garden for all you can eat: soup, salad, and bread sticks... it's only $5.95 if you get there before 3pm... we got in there and ordered with 15 minutes to spare! It was really good! Oh and we ordered the stuffed mushrooms appetizer too which are way delicious but way too expensive for the amount you get... we recommend trying those if you are a millionaire! After we were all completely stuffed (we said we were never eating again... it didn't last long!) we navigated our way back to the stadium, with great directions from our GPS... we wouldn't get anywhere in so. Cal without that thing!! We got to the monster jam really early, we got to see the pre-show races of mini trucks and remote control cars for like an hour and a half that was pretty cool. The stadium was empty for a long time (like in the pictures) and even for a little bit at 7 when it started, but it filled up fast, it was crazy how many people were there! The show was really cool! Those trucks were really loud! The best part was when they did the freestyle driving and they rolled and crashed into things... one truck got it's entire body torn off and another one burst into flames!! We had a lot of fun! It was freezing though, we had lots of layers and blankets on... and we were still frozen after sitting there for 3 hours, seriously, who knew that you would need jackets, down vests, and three blankets in San Diego, California?? weird... we know.

ZOO Day!

Today we decided to check out the much talked about San Diego Zoo and see what all the fuss was about... Our friends from Oregon (Justin and Valerie Nelson) were here because they went on a cruise to Mexico. We picked them up from their cruise ship and had time to kill before their flight back home. We only had about 4 hours to see the whole zoo (which, isn't exactly easy) so we were all way tired after from walking so much... we covered pretty much the whole zoo in that time! The zoo was really fun, we definitely got to see a lot of animals. Earlier in the week (when they left for the cruise) we checked out Balboa Park, and saw some of the stuff there, like a botanical garden... random, but cool. We also went to a natural history museum in the park... not as cool. How exciting can a museum be?! It was great to see the Nelson's and catch up with them... hopefully they will come again soon!!

2 months down... a million more to go!

yeah, we are still excited about counting month anniversaries... we have been married for two months! It is so exciting! Sean came home from work with a huge bouquet of flowers and a bottle of Martinellis sparkling cider (aww how sweet!) We went out to dinner to Chili's, one of our favorite places... somewhere on the top ten list... and then hit up Boomer's for some mini golf. We did the "King Arthur" course, it was a lot of fun! Melissa won (by a lot!) and Sean was a good sport... kinda. Can't wait for the next 10th of the month!!
