Afghanistan

Sean left.
I cried. A lot.
I am so proud of him and the courage he has to leave his family and defend this great country, where we live and enjoy so many wonderful privileges.
I couldn't do it. He amazes me.
Someday our son will understand the sacrifice his daddy made to keep him safe, and he will be proud too.
I'll miss him every second of every day. It's not going to be easy without him here with us.
I'll try not to complain.
I have so many blessings that others do not have... I count them many times to remind myself that I am truly fortunate.
Heavenly Father watches over our little family, and I am so grateful.

Wild, Wild, West

We made the cross-country trip again. Clayton and I moved to Idaho to be closer to the family while Sean is deployed. Sean drove with us here and will fly back to North Carolina and leave from there with the rest of his unit. The trip went really well Clayton was a trooper! He did so good he slept pretty much the whole time. The weather was good too. We only hit snow one time on a pass in Colorado and it wasn't too bad. It was so much better to drive together in the same car, it made the trip go way faster!
We got a little one bedroom apartment in Nampa for me and Clayton and got the essential furniture from friends and family (we put all of our stuff in storage in NC and only brought what we could fit in the back of the truck.)
States we went through were: North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri,  Kansas, Colorado, and Utah. (We also hit up Oregon to visit Sean's family before he left)

Here are some pictures from the trip:
(in no particular order... sorry.)

You better not cry, you better not pout...

I think he missed the memo...
Best present ever!
I love his yawns! So cute!!

It's been a busy month! After Clayton got home, Sean's mom came to visit for about a week. Then my mom and Cliff came to see us and we have been going, going, going. It was nice to have family around to help out with our new little bundle of joy. We woke up and opened presents Christmas eve so mom and Cliff could be there with us (since they supplied most of the presents. Thanks again guys!!) We took my mom and Cliff to Raleigh on Christmas eve because they few out really early on Christmas morning.
Christmas was perfect this year. We slept in, and stayed in our pajamas all day long! It was great to spend the day just the three of us.

Milk Drunk and a Monster

Maybe a little too much of the good stuff?
This is the cutest monster I have ever seen!

Clayton is getting big, I am surprised at how much he seems to grow over night! He's a rockstar!
