Clayton's Tree

Today we went on a hunt for a tiny Christmas tree for Clayton. He is really into decorating this year and we wanted him to have his very own tree to decorate and redecorate as much as he wanted.
We found the perfect tree about a foot off the side of the road. It was right in front of a national forest maintenance station where a forest service person lived, Sean was worried about getting caught cutting the tree down right in front of them. He pulled the car over so it was blocking the tree and cut it down with a sawzall in less than 30 seconds and threw it in the back of the car… It was hilarious! I was laughing so hard that I was crying! He was saying "I'm going to get arrested for cutting down a tiny little 3 foot tree!" Maybe you had to be there … it was so funny.

Here is Clayton's tree that he decorated all by himself:
The thing at the bottom is a rice bag. It is to keep it from falling over :)
Here is a little size comparison for you:
He is so proud of his little tree!

Snowflakes

We made paper snowflakes today to hang on our window. Clayton loved it! He sat on the floor for an hour just cutting paper into tiny little pieces. Quincy was entertained watching his big brother make a giant mess.

It's cold outside!

Yesterday the temperature high for the day was 12 degrees. It's cold.
We've been hanging out inside, as you might have guessed.
Here's what we have been up to:

We play with kitchen bowls on our heads...
We sword fight with plastic swords and wooden spoons… pants are optional.
Clayton has spent the majority of the last few days naked or half naked because it ups his odds of making it to the potty without going in his pants.
He practices sitting on his potty while watching movies.
Quincy jumps in his jumper or hangs out in his saucer, but no longer likes his swing or bouncer because he likes to be sitting up more where he can see all the crazy going on!

This is a picture of Buzz Lightyear in time-out… Clayton put him there, after about 10 seconds he said that Buzz was done and he wanted to play with him again. Apparently Buzz learned his lesson. :)
We got to go to school with Dad one night and hangout while he did some homework in the computer lab. We were only there for about 15 minutes, but now Clayton thinks that school is playing a "Wild Kratts" game on the computer...

Give Thanks

We went to Weiser for Thanksgiving. Here are some pictures:

This is what the boys did on the drive to Grandma's house:

Clayton spent the majority of his time chasing the cat around the house. He loves that cat so much… I don't think the cat feels the same way about Clayton.

Clayton and Dad drove the 4-wheeler all over the place!
Clayton fell asleep in the swing so we covered him up because it was cold outside...

Our new tradition of making a cheese ball turkey continues, mom and I made this one:

Carrot Nose

Clayton wakes up in the morning and climbs on his toy shelf to look out his window. Every day. Today when Sean went in to get him the first thing he said was: "I want to go play in the snow, Dad!" We weren't aware of the snow yet… but sure enough there was snow out there in our yard! So after a very rushed breakfast Clayton and Dad were outside building a snowman. Sean asked me for some wooden spoons to use for the arms. When he told Clayton to look around for something to use for the nose, he very adamantly informed Sean that they needed a carrot for it's nose! Sadly, we we didn't have any, our little boy was very disappointed at the lack of carrots for his snowman's nose! Apparently I need to have carrots in our house at all times during the snow months just in case there is a snowman in need of a nose!
I think their snowman turned out cute despite not having the correct nose ingredient.

THREE

My big boy is now three. No longer a baby, not even a toddler. What is a three year old considered? Just a kid now?? I think I will use the term "preschooler"… Whatever it is, Clayton is that. A three year old boy that has gotten to this point in life entirely too fast! Three whole years have passed since I became a mother. Clayton made me one. I couldn't have hand picked a better kid to give me such an honored title.
Clayton is the laugher in our home, he is the loud and crazy, he is the imagination and adventure. He is a little dude with huge opinions. When he sets his mind to something, nothing and no one is going to get in the way of his goal. He is smart, loving, helpful, energetic, and sometimes (often) the source that drives me to the edge of insanity.
I couldn't be more proud of the little man that he is becoming.

He knows the letters in the alphabet, the numbers 1-10, and If you quiz him on the types of tractors and construction vehicles, I bet 10 bucks he will know more than you do!
He loves playing outside, watching movies, and hanging out with his Daddy.

Happy Birthday Clayton!!!
Mom and Dad are very proud of you. We are so grateful that you are our little boy.  We love you more than you will ever know.
If I buy you a construction crane, will you promise to stop having birthdays so fast?!

Here is the morning bed picture…he wouldn't look at me.
posing with some of his new toys
coloring the Cars card that Grandma and Grandpa Boggs sent him
Here are some pictures of his "construction" party:
The group, minus Aunt Tif… she took the picture...
Playing with the cool stickers his Great Grandparents sent with his card.

Backyard

We love having our very own backyard that we don't have to share with anyone!
Here are the activities that have been going down in our backyard…

When my Mom and Cliff came to watch Clayton while I was having Quincy they bought the boys a swing set. It has been so fun having it! They also got a baby swing for Quincy so he could join in! Clayton likes to push Quincy in his swing.
Clayton wanted to try the baby swing out...
Yay for leaf piles! Clayton loves jumping in the leaves!!
We got a fire bowl!! Bring on the s'mores!
